When I’ve overseas guests visiting our beautiful island, I love to bring them to Waterloo street to see the Sri Krishnan Temple and Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple. You see, many devotees of either temple also worship at the other. I’ve learnt that this social practice is termed “cross-worshipping” reflects our multi-religious society.

What’s beautiful to witness is that the Sri Krishnan Temple has placed a container in front of its temple for the Chinese devotees to place their joss sticks. A thoughtful gesture that respects another tradition. I love it, speaks deeply to me from a heart space of all that’s good.

Growing up and living in a country that encourages and promote harmony is an aspect that I treasure lots. It’s the foundation for what I hold dear – the love for people and amplification of goodness regardless of regardless of race, language or religion.

I’m grateful that I can continue to promote this harmony through the work that my colleagues and I do at Positive Performance Consulting albeit at work places.

Thank you Singapore!
