Super delighted to have the opportunity to visit Matthewsons Auctions again at the pretty town of Thornton Le Dale. In time to catch filming being done, probably for their show Bangers & Cash.
Thornton le Dale is one of the prettiest villages in Yorkshire. We were there last year to see not it’s beauty but the stars of Bangers and Cash – the Matthewsons and the beautiful classic cars!
Bangers and Cash follows the Matthewsons family auction business in the lovely village of Thornton Le Dale, and their passion for classic cars.
Been watching the series and what I like is:
☀️ The genuine love and respect business owner Derek has for the cars. Each car has a unique story to tell. Reminds me of the passion and joy my colleagues and I at Positive Performance Consulting Pte Ltd have in journeying with each of our clients.
☀️ The reality of running and growing a business with its ups and downs. And having the tenacity to push through with strategies to pivot.
☀️ How people and relationships are the core of the business success; both internal and external.
I experienced this first hand when we were there to look at the cars last year. Saw Derek Matthewsons behind the office counter and I approached him to request for a wefie. I know he’s busy and was quite happy to take the pic as such – across the counter.
But he came out of the office so we could have a better pic. That was nice and certainly created a memorable customer experience for me.
Oftentimes it’s the little gestures that counts. For sure, I’m now an even bigger fan!
I did not have a chance to take a photo with Derek this time but was interviewed by Kristian Bamforth when he found out I was from Singapore. My short clip might air. Nice.
What’s even nicer for me is discovering that the family business has expanded since our visit last year. Love seeing businesses flourish.
