Step 2: Activate YOUR Dream Board

Have you created your dream board yet? If not, my suggestion will be to do that first before continuing on this journey. Btw, it is completely fine if you have empty spaces on your dream board. That’s great as you can fill it up with more pictures/ words as you begin to dream bigger, better and brighter. More ideas will pop up. That’s why I bought huge boards and had 3 of them! 🙂

Once you have created your dream board, the next step is to activate it.

Place your dream board at a prominent space in your room or home. Send happy thoughts to your dream board each day. When you are feeling frustrated or down, pause and focus on sending happy thoughts to your board instead of dwelling on the past which is cannot be changed. But for your future, you certainly can!

At this stage, the biggest obstacle is our rational and logical mind that asks “how”. Release the how for now as you are manifesting your dreams. If I had paid attention to the “how” all those years ago, I would not be enjoying my present happiness. All I knew back in 2007 was that I wanted a different life and it was fun dreaming the be, have and do. There was no way I could have known that today, I will be a business owner, published author of two books, meeting super interesting people from all over the world, enjoying a healthy and loving relationship and so much more. It unfolded even more spectacularly than I could have envisioned or set a SMART goal to at that point in time.

What your dream board does is to provide a way for you to refocus your Reticular Activating System (RAS). The RAS is a part of the mammalian brain located in the brain stem. In human biology, it is believed to play a role in many important functions, including sleep and waking, behavioural motivation, breathing, and the beating of the heart.

Our RAS is the sorter of the millions of pieces of information that we receive daily. It acts as a filter to all the data that we receive and helps us cope with all the information that is constantly demanding our attention. Our brain can only process so much at a time, so our RAS filter only lets things through that it thinks are important. And it does this through what we focus most on!

It brings to us the people, places, and things that we focus upon. What we choose to focus on will in turn attract more of it.

When we are feeling down or experiencing confusion, our thoughts may be less than stellar or positive. What the dream board does is provide us with a tool to refocus our RAS to thinking about what we want instead of what we do not want. Being able to dream provides us with hope. And that’s absolutely essential when we are manifesting our dreams!

So look at your board right now and send happy thoughts to it! You can visualise your boards being infused with sunshine or white light. Or as you look at your board, tell yourself “I stay open to possibilities and goodness”.

enJOY the process and I will connect with you at the next video!
